Islam Agrees with Christianity the following:
Jesus was born of a virgin
She said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?” [The angel] said, “Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is
Surat Ali Imran 3:47
Jesus performed many miracles
And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.
Surat Ali Imran 3:49
Jesus is the Messiah
[and mention] when the angels said, O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah]
Surat Ali Imran 3:45
Islam Disagrees with Christianity on the following:
Jesus was divine
And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, “O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?'” He will say, “Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen
I said not to them except what You commanded me – to worship Allah , my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness
Surat Al Maidah 5:116-117
Jesus died on the cross
And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah .” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.
Surat An-Nisa 4:157
Jesus rose from the grave
Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise
Surat An-Nisa 4:158
In the book of Acts, from the resurrection of Christ to present day, Jesus true disciples have always preached Jesus life, death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead
These three things are the core of biblical Christianity according to all the scriptures that preceded these events, and then were carried out according to the scriptures, so to attack any of these truths would be the key elements of false teachings that Jesus and the apostles sharply warned us about
There have been a number of teachings that have tried to contradict these historical truths from day one.
But todays focus is five to six hundred years after Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection, when Muhammad comes along and tried to change what was always and consistently known to be true about Jesus Christ.
But what does the Quran actually say?
When we look at the Quran, we see that it states that followers of Jesus are superior to those who disbelieve
when Allah said, “O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ
Quran Verse 3:55
This verse says in the day of resurrection, the final day for all mankind, Allah is going to make those who believe in Jesus until that final day superior to those who disbelieve
O you who have faith! Be Allah’s helpers, just as Jesus son of Mary said to the disciples, “who will be my helpers for Allah’s sake?” The disciples said, “we will be Allah’s helpers!” So a group of the children of Israel believed, and a group disbelieved, then we strengthened the faithful against their enemies, and they became the dominant ones
Quran Verse 61:14
Apparently, in this verse, Allah is saying that those who had faith in, and became disciples of Jesus, just as Jesus disciples who followed him, were strengthened against their enemies and became the dominant ones.
Islam argues that the “original scriptures are corrupted” but in the Quran it says:
He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel aforetime, a guidance for the people, and He sent the Quran
Quran Verse 3:3
Nazzala AAalayka alkitaba bilhaqqimusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi waanzala attawratawal-injeel
This particular phrase (in bold) means: “that which is in between your hands” This statement that Muhammad recited says that the Book with truth is that which is already in between your hands. Since the Quran had not yet been written, the Christian’s and Jews were the only ones who already had their Scriptures in their hands. He is confirming that it is guidance for the people
So when Muslims say that the scriptures were “Corrupted”, their very own Quran says this statement is false and that the scriptures they already had in their hands was true.
The Quran tells Muhammad that if he disbelieves what was revealed to him, he can always go ask those who have been reading the scriptures before him (the Christians and the Jews who had the entire old testament and now were preaching the Gospel of message about Jesus Christ) to show him the truth in the scriptures.
So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters
Quran Verse 10:94
This still assumes that the scriptures were available and true even before the Quran was produced, and infallible as Christians confirm, and God tells Muhammad that if he ever doubts, then to go ask the Christians and Jews, (the ones who had the earlier scriptures) for the truth.
And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient
Quran Verse 5:47
This verse implicitly orders the “people of the Gospel” (Christians) to judge what Allah has revealed. Therefore, it is by command of the Quran (the only one I’ll ever follow since it’s the only one that lines up with previously preached scriptural truths) that I am allowed to preach to the Muslim that their doctrine is false and the Quran is a fraud since it doesn’t line up with anything previously preached regarding the scriptures.
I hope you understand that I do this with all sincerity because where you spend eternity is all gonna be based on whether or not you accept Jesus Christ as Lord or not.
This means everything to me now that I know and can prove it to be true.
I love you and sent this for you to consider the truth
Say, “O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord.” And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people
Surat Al Maidah 5:68
This pretty much states clearly and precisely that we should only stand on the Law of the Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deutoronomy) and the Gospel, and then everything revealed from the Lord, which is Jesus Christ.
It even goes further to state that many are gonna disbelieve what those who do so have to say!
The Quran states that the Old Testament scripture is truthful, and since they all point to Jesus and confirm Him as the awaited messiah who would live, die, and rise from the dead to save mankind from their sins any argument that scripture is “corrupted” or “false” as the Muslims defense is not true even to their own beliefs
It also states that if you stand on anything else (other than the Old Testament and the Gospel) you are standing on nothing at all; the very books that point to Jesus!
And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can alter His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Quran Verse 6:115
Muslims always defend the Quran by saying that the scriptures have been corrupted. But not only does the Quran state that no one can alter the Word of God, but by this, it also affirms that all scriptures before it have to be true then. The very scriptures that all point to Jesus Christ and make no mention of Muhammad what so ever.
So to recap
the Quran teaches:
1. No one can corrupt the Word of God (A statement which must include past, present and future to be deemed true)
2. The Quran says to follow the scriptures of the Torah and the Gospel
3. The Quran says the people of the book “Christians & Jews”, have the truth
4. The Quran states that followers of Jesus are superior to those who disbelieve
5. If we are to trust the scriptures previously written before the Quran, then those scriptures do not indicate that Muhammad was to come and therefore him and his teachings are of no significance in history in relation to God’s will for humanity
If the scriptures are true, then this is the only proof necessary that Islam’s teaching are false
but if the scriptures are false, Islam is still false because the Quran says the scriptures are true!
Jesus answered, I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me
Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the Lord makes
his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
After he has suffered,
he will see the light of life
and be satisfied;
by his knowledge
my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors
