Come Jesus Come!

Last night I went to hang out with one of my brothers in Christ

As we joined in fellowship outside in a school parking lot it was such a warm and beautiful summer night that close to midnight, we just kicked back and were looking up at the sky

Then he said something that caught me off guard

He said “Imagine Jesus just came back right now how awesome that would be”

I was laying back on the pavement nodding along looking at the clouds in the sky when it hit me…

This is by no means the way that I anticipate casually kicking back before the Lord when He returns

And from no biblical description given, will His coming be some sort of relaxed entrance of Bambi-like grace gently bouncing from cloud to cloud as He descends to Earth

This got me thinking today of how important it is to guard ourselves against the imagination of even other fellow believers

Who through unconscious sinful human subtlety introduce idea’s that can cause us to relax our duties and purposes to the Lord our God whom we truly seek to serve

I don’t know what that day will be like entirely

But I do know this much

Blessed is the servant whom when his Lord returns, shall find him  doing so

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:29-31
