Review: The Holy Bible

“A billion stars and counting!”
Raymond M

God made two great lights–the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars
Genesis 1:16

“All of mankind’s thumbs up, or at least knee bowed down!”
Raymond M

It is written: “‘As surely as I live, ‘says the Lord,’ every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God”‘
Romans 14:11

So holy and pure. The only book truly worthy of transforming the mind, soul, and spirit of every reader
Raymond M

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
Psalm 19:7-11

“Never have I ever read a true story about the hero dying for the villain to live, just; wow. Truly beyond amazing”
Raymond M

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed
Isaiah 53:5

“So sad that it was because of our evil thoughts, words, and acts that His Son was crushed, but that just taught me about a love so pure and holy like I have never seen before all the days of my life, and it gives me hope that if He could love me that much, I can definitely learn with His guidance to love others the same way also. If that doesn’t move your heart, I honestly don’t know what will” (heartfelt sigh)
Raymond M

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life
John 3:16

It seems like the more time I spend reading and putting Biblical principles and insight’s into practice, the easier daily life becomes through understanding.
Raymond M

If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success
Ecclesiastes 10:10

The Way, The Truth and the Life! Need I say more?
Raymond M

Jesus answered, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me,”
John 14:6

Looking for a book to that you can repeatedly read, learn from, and teach others the truth from for the rest of your life? I definitely would recommend the Holy Bible; the Word of God

“Hey You” – The Fall of Man

I want you to take a moment and consider the “Hey You” in the title of this message.

How did you perceive it?

Hey You :-!
(A command)

Hey You : -?
(A question)

Hey You : )
(A happy call of a comrade)

Hey You : (
(A distressing call)

Hey You :-/
(An indifferent remark)

Did you know that there are godly and ungodly perceptions regarding all things in life that are a part of who we all are?

The Fall of Man

The woman said to the serpent, “we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, “You must not eat of the fruit of the tree that is the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die“‘

“You will not certainly die”, the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Genesis 3:2-6

This piece of scripture is the foundation for all understanding of biblical teachings and is also necessary for understanding the necessity of them.

How we both speak and perceive words and actions, to and from every single individual we encounter daily, is a direct reflection of one of two things; good or evil. The Spirit of God or the spirit of the opposer.

Have you ever had your mother/father call you to do some chores? “Hey, come clean these dishes!”

You have no control over the tone or intentions of how another person will call to you, but you do however, have control over how you will perceive and respond. Whether you will respond with contempt, anger, disgust, disregard, mercy, pleasure, or joy.

Doing wrong is a joke to a fool, but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding
Proverbs 10:23

Your conscience bears witness to how you react and is based on the condition of the heart and mind. You have the knowledge of both good and evil within you. If you are for God, you react according to His Spirit taught in His precepts. But if you are not for God, you will react according to contempt for God’s teachings.

Contempt –  The feeling that a person or thing is beneath consideration, worthless, or deserving scorn. Disregard for something that should be taken into account.

So you must ask yourself, do you respect God’s command?

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you
Exodus 20:12

Or do you stand in objection of God’s command and are more concerned with your own time, your own wants, your own desires, or your own pursuits?

Just by making a simple choice, just that easily, with absolutely no effort whatsoever, you can cause your own spiritual death if it is a choice against God. The death that God had warned Adam and Eve about in the Garden of Eden was in fact spiritual death, and every day we face death and sometimes live, but sometimes die because of simply disregarding a direct command given us by God.

To the believer in the Lord Jesus, you are immediately allowed back into His presence if we acknowledge our wrong doing and repent. But also, it is important that we learn to keep from repeating the offense. This is an art that all who believe are given a helper and a life time to perfect. To be, and do good to others regardless of what we receive in return for it, and according to God’s idea of goodness, not our own. Not because there is no reward; on the contrary; there is a reward better than anything this world has to offer. It is the reward of being a child of God which entitles you to enter the Heavens for all eternity and assures your safety in the day of judgement.

It is inevitable that we are going to fall many times in life. But greater is no love than One who would lay down His life for a friend! We have also been given a helper to assist us in walking according to God’s precepts.

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever
John 14:16

I used to think that the good deeds that I did were all of my own doing. Little did I know that all goodness that we do in life comes from the ultimate Spirit of righteousness and pure goodness. The Spirit of God! We are only a reflection thereof when we walk according to the very word God has given for instruction. The reason that I think a lot of people miss out on receiving all that they can is because when they learn some of the differences between good and evil, they begin to believe like the serpent told Eve, that they themselves are now the one in control of the goodness that they do. If you are the one leading your life, making your own decisions about what is good and evil with no regard for the Word of God, then how can the Spirit of God be leading you also?

Because He himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted
Hebrews 2:18

This is just one of the many reasons I love God!

I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands
Psalm 63:4

God sent the ultimate sacrifice for sin so that we can repent and be forgiven immediately to save us from continually falling again. Think about how many times you may have fallen just this week, and this is only one example and one command of God. If there is no faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for your sins, what will you do to gain God’s forgiveness for them?

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved
Acts 4:12

I don’t know about you, but that gives me a whole new appreciation for Jesus Christ. God who bore all affliction for us whom He loves that we might be saved and reconciled to Him.

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed
Isaiah 53:5

But it also makes me realize that if I don’t know all of the things that cause me to sin, how will I keep from walking repeatedly unto spiritual death?

Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet, a light for my path
Psalms 119:105

The Word of God should be our protection and we should hold firm to it in everything we do. Whether waking up, eating, getting dressed, commuting, working, speaking with friends and family, or returning to sleep, we are without armor or protection from the daily adversities that cause sin without the constant protection that God breathed out for us to follow.

Every Word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
Proverbs 30:5

The more that you read and study the word of God, I guarantee you that you will come to see the truth that is the above scripture.

To me, truth is something that, if applied to all, serves to the best benefit of all.

When I read God’s Word and consider His truly flawless teachings, I am absolutely assured that Heaven would exist on Earth had we never ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and had abided in His precepts alone all of our days. That’s what makes it flawless and perfect. That’s how I know that He who inspired men to write these words is in fact God.

I pray that you find the free salvation offered to all of mankind in His Word so when that little voice that aims to tempt you to do something that you know is in opposition of God’s teaching’s calls, you instead respond with the knowledge of His Spirit to choose wisely so that you might find victory over your real enemy.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm
Ephesians 6:12

This, then, is how you should pray:
Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,

On Earth as it is in Heaven
Matthew 6:9-11

Blessings always,

Keep!

Today when I came into the office, I had sat down and opened up my Lotus notes, and asked my heart what I might write to give encouragement to others.

I don’t know why, but the word “keep” started to enter my head, so I wrote it down. It seemed like such an odd word.

I then wrote down the different ways of using it

“Keep”, “Kept”, “Keeping”

I don’t know why, but today this word just stuck out to my Spirit more than ever.

I decided to Google the definition as I do with most words nowadays.

This is what I found:

Keep – Have or retain possession of:

but the example of it’s use that followed it was the amazing part!

My Father would keep the best for himself”

This is how God thinks of those who love Him. He keeps them for Himself!

To the cynic – c’mon, what are the chances of that! Lol

Blessings always brothers and sisters, and keep being encouraged! : )

If you keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself” you are doing right
James 2:8

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning
Luke 12:35

We know that we have come to know Him if we keep His commands
1 John 2:3

The Penitent Heart

I find myself running
Its you that I seek
I know what I’ve done
And you already know me

I can stay in the darkness
Hoping you wont see
Or step out in the light
Faithful in my plea

I’m sorry Oh Lord
I hold my head low
But you lift me up
Forgiveness you show

You stepped out of heaven
And made me a way
Though I didn’t deserve it
Even here today

But that’s how you love me
So what will I do
Dedicate all of my days
To loving you too.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me
Psalm 51:10

Can’t Quit? Try God!

For the past fifteen years of my life I had been a smoker.

Although I smoked regularly, I truly despised the habit. I would smoke and my clothes would smell like it, my fingers would smell like it, and it would make the room I was in smell like it too which I also didn’t like. Although I knew the risks involved with the habit, it was like I couldn’t stop myself. The worst was when I used to drink alcohol. I could easily smoke through an entire pack in an evening when I mixed drinking and smoking. Then inevitably as I felt it the next morning, I would be left in regret; promising myself that I would cut back; sometimes even quit, but never able to hold out for very long.

I tried everything in the past 10 years to quit smoking. I went “cold turkey”, and that worked out really well for a while. I think I was able to go about five months smoke-free when I did, but I eventually fell back into the habit when I was surrounded with friends who smoked and especially if I ever had a drink which usually relaxes all of your normal thoughts surrounding common sense.

There was a time I tried the patch, and I even tried the nicotine inhalers too. Those also worked out for a short time but then I soon caved.

I was so adamant about quitting that I went as far as consulting a hypnotist who claimed to be a specialist in helping people specifically to quit smoking which actually worked out the longest. I believe I went six months without a cigarette after just the one appointment. Nevertheless, I ended up giving in once again and was now completely out of options.

Then November 1st 2012, I was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ.

I’ll let you in on the wisdom that changed my life, not just in smoking, but in all things. If you think that there is anything in this lifetime that you are capable of overcoming on your own, God will leave you to yourself to go about doing so. You will, like me, run from one understanding to another to another trying to hold together that man-made understanding all of your life.

But when you give up…. This is the time when God can work best with you, and you also find out that since the moment you were created, He always had your best interest at heart.

Recognizing that there is nothing in this lifetime that you can do alone, nor that your God designed this lifetime so that you should have to do alone, is when you are open and able to receive all the blessings that God intends for you. You see, we as people use our senses given to us by God to run about trying to do as much as we can according to what we see, hear, think, feel, smell, and taste, instead of using those senses for God. We can even tell ourselves that we are doing it all for God’s glory and live in our own delusion thereof all the days of our lives believing that we have understanding. But true understanding comes only when we give up all we think we know and allow ourselves to be completely submissive to God’s wisdom and command.

He allowed me to do all that I could on my own without interjecting so that when I finally did turn to Him completely exhausted and without any fight left in me, for I had tried all that I could possibly fathom on my own, now I was the perfect piece of moldable clay that God wants us to be in order to be wholeheartedly committed to His understandings.

If we hear and read of God’s Word without understanding, and believe in our minds and hearts that we also know an alternative if God’s plan doesn’t work out for us, that little bit of doubt in Him that He is well aware of will cause us to mature in a faulty sense of faith.

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:4

We as believers in God are saved by Grace through Faith

If this is the way we are saved, if we truly understand the necessity of being saved, would you really want to bank your future in the Kingdom of God to come from a faulty sense of faith?

Submission to God’s wisdom and giving up our own should mean everything in this lifetime to the believer. Because of all the roads that I have taken in life, I know all too well after a true reflection in all humility of my past, that my own understanding leads me to places I dare not return.

I pray for my fellow believers, that you might pray and ask God to show you the places in your life that require His guidance and wisdom to change, because out of true humility, you realize that your own understandings will always have fault, but His are forever perfect.

God wants to help you and the time to begin practicing perfecting your faith is now!

It’s now been seven months that I’ve been smoke free, and this time I continue to pray that by His grace I am never going back!

All praises be to our glorious sovereign God!

Blessings always

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong,
2 Corinthians 12:10

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “move from here to there” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you”
Matthew 17:20

Judge Not

Recently I wrote to you all about having faith in “God’s G.P.S” and applying that to day to day life. By having faith, I was able to turn what we normally would view as a dilemma in life, into something that works out for a blessing instead. I had missed my bus on my way to work one morning and by God’s grace through faith, found a new route to work that ultimately was both faster and closer to my actual building.

This morning however, while on my way to work, I was running late and had to resort back to my previous route. I had taken this old route for quite some time in the past and was pretty well acquainted with all the other passengers who also traveled at that time of the day to work with me.

As we moved along stop to stop, picking up the usual faces I was accustomed to seeing, we reached the airport where we would normally pick up one girl who works on the same street as I do. I noticed that she wasn’t there today though.

As we pulled off and reached the very next traffic lights, the same girl came running up to and knocking on the bus door in hopes that the driver would let her on.

He didn’t.

As I sat and watched the whole thing transpire, I began to shake my head at what was taking place before my eyes. But then I realized, what I was doing was passing judgement on the driver.

Judge not lest ye be judged
Matthew 7:1

As soon as I realized what I was doing, I immediately repented and began to pray for the girl and for the driver instead. That his heart would be moved with compassion for her and wait for her and that she would make it onto the bus.

Sure enough, the driver, although unable to pick her up at an intersection, proceeded to the next stop and waited for her to cross the busy intersection and get on at the appropriate stop.

It made me realize that if we spend time judging situations, then we spend less time praying for them which is truly what God wants us to do for one another in love. Love by it’s true definition is having patience, showing kindness, not delighting in evil but rejoicing in truth.

The truth is, the driver could lose his license by picking up pedestrians anywhere on the road except the specified stops because of safety hazards. Kindness is recognizing that truth and praying that he doesn’t just make a way to help someone, but to help them according to the law in addition to the goodness of his heart.

When we forget that things prayed for to God must also be done according to His righteousness, then we judge situations incorrectly. What may seem like an injustice, is actually the Lord trying to open your eyes to have a clear perception of His kind of righteousness and not our own idea’s of it.

This also made me realized in missing my bus for my new route, that God will take us back down old routes in life to re-learn lessons that we learn and overlook if we don’t hold on to them for future endeavors.

I pray you find guidance in today’s words and that you look at situations with God’s righteousness and not your own and remember that God is love for all of us, not just some.

Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love
1John 4:8

Blessings always,

Keep Shining

Day by day whether shine or rain

You can’t stop the light that shines from within

It flickers at times but that just means fight

Cause God won’t snuff out even the dimmest of light

I can press on forward like I already know it all

But that’s a quick way to build up for a fall

Cause God’s the only one who can lift you within

And place you on high in sight of life’s real vision

And that’s why the name is worthy to be praised

Give up your understanding, submit to His ways

And what you’ll receive is a blessing beyond compare

Cause true love has the power to cast out all fear

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare

and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers,

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes

and see the punishment of the wicked.
Psalm 91:1-8
